How to Pray For Missionaries During a Crisis

Pray for him or her to have a firm grip on the Father’s hand and to be undistracted in his or her devotion to the Lord (see Prov. 4:23; 1 Cor. 7:35; 2 Tim.1:13-14, 2:15, 3:15-16).

• Pray for him or her to study the Word and to share Christ continually. Pray for many to come to know Christ (see Acts 26:18; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Col. 1:13-14; 2 Tim. 4:1-2).
• Pray for missionaries and chaplains to disciple the people in their ministry (see Acts 1:14, 2:42, 17:11; Eph. 4:1-3, 11-12, 15-16, 23, 32).
• Pray for them to remember the deeds of the Lord in the past and praise Him (see Pss. 20:7, 105:1-5, 118:17; Luke 10:23; Acts 14:27, 15:8).
• Pray for protection from the evil one and for them to remember that the battle belongs to the Lord (see Ex. 15:2-3; 2 Chron. 20:15; Zech. 9:14-15; Matt. 10:19-20; John 17:15).
• Pray for boldness and that they would be more interested in pleasing God than in pleasing man (see Isa. 51:7; Matt. 5:11-12, 10:28; Acts 5:41-42).
• As you pray, be aware of the times; use the news as a prayer guide (see 1 Chron. 12:32; Matt. 16:3; 2 Cor. 1:8-10).
